PHOENICIA. Aradus. Diadumenian, as Caesar, 217-218. Tetradrachm (Billon, 26 mm, 12.09 g, 1 h). ΑΥ ΚAI ΜAP ΟΠ ΑΝΤⲰ[ΝЄΙΝΟ]C Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Diadumenian to right, seen from behind. Rev. [ΔΗΜ]Α[ΡΧ ЄΞ Υ]ΠΑΤ A Eagle with spread wings standing facing, head to left and holding wreath in beak; between legs, head of a bull to right. Bellinger -, cf. 246-7 and pl. XVII, 15-16 (same obverse die, but differing reverse legends). Prieur 1254 (same obverse die). Very rare and nicely toned. Areas of weakness and with a light scratch on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
